Alvah Lee
Helmich
Apr 26, 1957 — Apr 26, 2025
Alexander
Alvah Lee Helmich, born on April 26, 1957, was called home to be with the Lord on her 68th birthday, April 26, 2025. Her life was a beautiful testimony of love for family, faithful service, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
Lee was a devoted sister to Eileen Helmich, James Helmich (Sue) and Chris Helmich (Connie). Also, she was a beloved aunt to Marty Helmich, Will Helmich, Maggie Chaloner (Kevin), Billy Helmich, John Helmich, Laura Gilbert (Tate) and great aunt to Cole and Benjamin Chaloner. She now rejoices in Heaven, reunited with her parents, Bill and Laura Lee Helmich, and her brother, Rick Helmich, who preceded her in death.
Blessed with a servant's heart, Lee joyfully gave her time to her church family by helping with altar flowers, Christmas decorations, serving meals, and volunteering during Vacation Bible School. Her love for the Lord was evident in her acts of kindness and her willingness to serve others with a joyful spirit.
Lee spent most of her life working at Walmart, where she made lifelong friends and brightened the lives of those around her with her kindness, warm smile, and caring spirit.
Lee found great joy in the simple pleasures of life — gardening, fishing, working with the cows, and cheering on college softball teams.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, we find peace in the assurance of eternal life through Christ. We celebrate her homecoming, knowing she now rests in the loving arms of her Savior and has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Flower Fund in memory of Lee Helmich.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Avilla. Minister will be Rev. Willie T. Grills.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM before the services.
