Obituary

Ashton Alayne Eakin, 29, passed away May 6, 2019 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, during her long fight with cancer. She was born October 26, 1989 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Ashton was an incredible wife to Jared, and mother to her two daughters, Brynn (8) and Cambry (5). Ashton loved the Lord and enjoyed humming old hymns that she grew up listening to. She was passionate about cheer and devoted much of her life to not only cheering but also coaching her special needs team. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at UAMS in May 2017 and found so much joy in her profession. She lived her life to the fullest and was always up for an adventure, whether it be going to a concert, hiking, or spending countless hours digging for arrowheads. She carried that sense of adventure with her everywhere she went and had special knack of sparking that sense of adventure in everyone around her. She was an amazing mother and wife. Ashton enjoyed nothing more than spending time taking pictures of her daughters, cuddling during family movie nights, and doing countless crafts with her little ones.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Mel and Cheryl Burks.

She was survived by her husband, Jared; daughters, Brynn and Cambry; mother, Carolyn Buckner (Ed); father Phillip Lewis (Mary), great-grandmother, Mildred Thomason; grandparents, Glenn and Barbara Lewis; brothers, Grant Lewis (Hillary) and Will Lewis; sisters, Kristen Hendrix; step-sisters, Morgan Buckner, Brooke Buckner, and Grace Lee. Ashton is also survived by a large extended family including many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Family visitation will be on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Holland Chapel Baptist Church in Benton, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm. Allan Eakin will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery in Benton, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions towards a college fund for Brynn and Cambry. All gifts that have been given through the GoFundMe Page in the last couple of days will be transferred to this account.
