Bart David Bennett, age 54, of Bryant, peacefully went home to the Lord on Thursday August 27, 2026.

He was born September 21, 1971 in Reform Alabama. Bart was currently a custom stone tile layer. Bart was a lover of golf, the outdoors, and his Alabama Tide football team.

He is preceded in death by his parents William E. “Bill” Bennett, Jr. and Marjorie Lucille Stisher Bennett, and his brother Michael Bennett.

Bart is survived by his wife, Leslie Miller Bennett, two bonus sons, Zach Miller (Meagan) and kids, and Spencer Ball; bonus daughter, Riley Miller; brother, William “Bo” Bennett III (Jeana); sister-in-law Libby Bennett; and a very special granddaughter Penelope, whom he thought hung the moon.

He attended elementary school at Pickens Academy in Carrollton, Alabama. His Father was transferred to Bryant, Arkansas and Bart enrolled in Bryant School District where he graduated from. Bart went on to attend UALR and then Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Bart had his hands in many things over his life, from selling shoes and cars to laying stone and tile and everything to do with outdoors. In Bart’s earlier years he could be found most nights in the gym, he loved pushing himself to be the best. He loved to be on the golf course telling his buddies, “watch this”. He volunteered with the youth and taught them his secrets. Bart had a love for animals, especially his beloved Ted, whom I’m sure is right at his side. Bart loved to load up the beagles and go on a hunt. Bart walked many miles with his beloved dogs over the years. Bart’s favorite place to be was the outdoors. He hunted everything and did quite well. He said many times he felt closest to God while in the woods just before dawn.

Bart loved the art of the deal. He pounded the pavement at many car lots over the years. Those years produced not just customers but lifelong friends. He told lots of great stories about his car lot friends. He loved competing for anything but always considered himself to be his biggest competitor. He was definitely a walking, talking go getter. He never met a stranger. He might meet you once and not see you for a year but when he saw you again he’d remember your name. Bart had big love for his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide football team. He cheered them on his entire life.

Bart had a great love for his parents, whom he took excellent care of. He became their caregiver during their time of need. Bart was diagnosed and survived cancer twice and never told his parents because he didn’t want to worry them. Bart checked on his friends far and near, he checked on his neighbors, and was a great provider to his family.

As we say our final goodbyes, we want to take comfort knowing Bart is on the ultimate trail. His spirit will forever be felt in the whisper of the pines, the rush of the river and the early morning woods. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23 at Ashby Funeral Home with a Celebration of His Life beginning at 11:00 a.m.
