Betty L. Whitfield, age 83, of Benton, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024.  She was born October 12, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Marvin and Helen McLellan Potts.  In addition to being a homemaker and stay at home mom; Betty also worked for Allstate Insurance, substitute teacher for the Benton School District, and her favorite job was working for Arkansas Game & Fish with her "Big" baby brother Butch and cousin Kim.

A graduate of Hall High School, she also attended Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA of Conway) and UALR in Little Rock where she studied Elementary Education.  With her adventurous and creative spirit; she loved to travel to her beloved Rocky Mountains, go yard saling with her best friend Sandy, and make beautiful floral arrangements.

In addition to her parents; she is also preceded in death by her brother, Butch Potts and her beloved husband of 41 years, Doyle Whitfield.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Linda Whitfield-Brickey of Benton and Caryl McDonald of Texas; bonus daughters, Helen White (Wayne) of Benton, Delores Davis (Al) of Bauxite, and Frances Walter of Missouri; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, Angela Potts-Herron (Joe) of Indiana and Salena Potts-Brackeen (Drew) of Bryant; and a host of family & friends that she loved and cherished.  A true fighting spirit til the end.  Forever loved and missed.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Brickey, John Parton, Ron Bramley, Chris Boyett, Steve Hopkins, and Ronnie Hopkins.  Honorary pallbearer will be Craig Marrillia.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 15 at Trinity Baptist Church with services beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.  Bro. Mike Titsworth will be officiating.
