Bobbie Frances Carter Ziegler age 87, of Lonsdale, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. She was born June 3, 1937in Benton, to Ambrose M. and Mildred Carter, the oldest of 4 children. Graduated May 1955 from Fountain Lake High School. After graduation she worked a few months at the Jones Riverside Grocery as a cashier and in the Owosso Plywood plant office. On June 29, 1956 she married the love of her life, the most wonderful man Lyndolph (D. L.) Ziegler. They owned and operated a 500 plus acre cattle farm, running 300-400 head of cattle.

She and Lyndolph were members of the Owensville Baptist Church. She was Church Secretary for 26 years and also the Sunday School Secretary. They were also members of the Congo Hill Eastern Star. They were Charter members of Rubicon Chapter of Eastern Star, which consolidated with Congo Hill. She was also a member of the Ziegler Quartet.

They had two children, a son Randall (Leann) Ziegler, and a daughter Tracy (Casey) Phillips. They also raised their oldest grandchild, Amanda (Jonathan) Nance (full time since age 2), brother, Wayne Carter, sisters, Mary Lou Cook, and Gail Bean, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, D.L. Lyndolph Ziegler.

The first of July 1957 she went to work as a secretary for the Saline County Conservation District and the Soil Conservation Service (later renamed Natural Resources Conservation Service), where she retired after 50 years of service. She received numerous awards and certificates for outstanding and superior service to these agencies. In 1979 she received a cash award and Certificate for Outstanding Performance for "Work above and Beyond That Which Was Required" in 1978-1979. This was accomplished by working in the area office, which was over 10 counties, as area secretary and also working in the Benton office. In 1980 she received the Soil Conservation Service Certificate of Merit for outstanding performance. In 1984 she was selected as the State's Outstanding Conservation District Secretary of the Year by the Arkansas Soil and Water Conservation Commission. In 1986 she was featured in book entitled "Saline County Women-150 Years" published sy the Pine Cone Chapter of American Business Women's Association, dedicated to all the women who have contributed to the growth and betterment of Saline County. Through the years she received other awards for outstanding performance. She also served as a board member and secretary to the Crow's Station Volunteer Fire Department. She served as Director at the Owensville Baptist Church Food Pantry.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Ashby Funeral Home.

Church services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Owensville Baptist Church, burial will be at Owensville Cemetery. Ministers will be Bro. Jim Lagrone and Bro. Gary Gipson.
