Brenda Marie Wimmer of Benton passed away Thursday, July 28, 2023 at the age of 82. Born in Bauxite to the late Walter & Marie Wimmer, Brenda was a 1959 graduate of Benton High School. She attended Ouachita Baptist before returning to Benton to work at The Union Bank. She then went on to work at DHS & retired as a director in the Benton office after 30 years.

Brenda was a faithful member of First Baptist Benton for 60+ years where she enjoyed singing in the adult choir and many other church activities. In her later years, she became a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church.

Retirement allowed Brenda the freedom to take the cruises, go on the trips, enjoy time with family and friends and show up for Happy Hour at Sonic for a Coke. She loved it all!

Brenda was pre-deceased by her parents, Walter & Marie Wimmer and her brother-in-law, Troy Baxley. She is survived by her sister & best friend, Patti Baxley, her nephew, Eric Baxley (Athena) and good friend, Gail Baxley. Brenda was "2nd mother" to Mary Alice Hughes for almost 56 years & "Aunt B" to many others over the years. She succeeded in spoiling all of them!

Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 31 at Ashby Funeral Home with service immediately following at 10:00 a.m.   Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you please consider a donation in Brenda's memory to the Indian Springs Baptist Church Security Team (PO Box 486, Bryant, AR, 72089).
