Carmela Mary Phillips, age 89, of Benton, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025.  She was born May 2, 1936 in Pennsylvania.  Carmela was an LPTN and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Risorto & Clotilda Santarelli; her husband, Wilburn "Leon" Phillips; two daughters, Deborah Phillips, Linda Phillips Eubanks; two sisters, Raphael Chadwick and Philomena Morelli; and a brother, Pasquale Santarelli.

Carmela is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Phillips Ferrell (Jeff); one son, David L. Phillips (Deborah); one brother, Vincent Santarelli (Frannie); nine grandchildren, Roger Eubanks Jr. (Sarah Sparkman), Angela Eubanks Hebert (Jeffrey), Anna Eubanks, Megan Eubanks Thomas (Kevin), Alison Phillips, Dawson Phillips, Madison Phillips, Blake Ferrell, and Nick Ferrell; five great-grandchildren, Kendall Hebert, Truett Hebert, Beckett Hebert, Skylar Thomas, and Natasha Thomas; and multiple nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be Roger Eubanks Jr., Kevin Thomas, Dawson Phillips, Tom Phillips, Blake Ferrell, Nick Ferrell, and Kendall Hebert.

A rosary will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 16 at Ashby Funeral Home with a visitation to follow from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with a graveside service 3:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery @ 1430 McCollum Rd in Austin, AR 72007.
