Charles Dewayne Bragg, 78, of Hot Springs Village, passed away on December 3, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 21, 1947 in Bauxite, Arkansas. Dewayne was one of 7 children born to the late Wayne and Estellene Bragg. Dewayne and his siblings were known in Saline County as a family that loved singing together, playing sports and enjoying outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. Dewayne, aka "Dewey", especially loved hunting in South Arkansas with family and friends at the CEB/CRB Hunting Club.

He was a graduate of Bryant High School and the State College of Arkansas (now UCA). While in college he played football and ranks near the top of multiple record categories for punting. After college he was a coach and teacher, even leading Gould High School's track team to a State Championship.

As a young man he loved playing softball. Known in the softball community as "Rookie", he was a powerful homerun hitter and is a member of both the Arkansas Softball Hall of Fame and Benton Softball Hall of Fame. He was so sought after by teams that some would even fly him to tournaments to play for them. Dewayne has been known to say that he's "never played on a field that he couldn't hit it out of".

In the mid 70's Dewayne left coaching and began building homes. This led to a 40+ year homebuilding career where he built hundreds of homes in the Central Arkansas area. He had a great reputation for quality homes and was active in the Saline Homebuilders Association up until his retirement. While in retirement, he lived in Hot Springs Village and found a passion for metal detecting. He often traveled to Europe searching for coins and artifacts, then researching their history. He has an impressive collection of old coins and war memorabilia.

Dewayne was a loving father to three children, Tracy (James) Neighbors, Lindsey (Gary) Kennedy and Michael (Melissa) Bragg all of Arkansas. He was also a proud "Poppy" to five grandchildren: Grace, Madeline, Lillian, Harper and Solomon and known as "Buck" to 6 step-grandchildren: Gray, Elliott, Jude, Jack, Elanore, and Finn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Estellene Bragg, and brother, Dennis Bragg. He is survived by his children and his wife, Donna Goodner and her children, Boyd (Cristen) Goodner and Blair Cochran; siblings, Patricia (Roger) Rowland, Diane Jones, Ronnie (Verna) Bragg, Johnny (Angela) Bragg, Allen Bragg; and brother-in-law Reggie (Lori) Cusick.  His passing leaves a huge hole in many hearts. He was a great man.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
