Charles "Gerald" Wray, 82, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025. Born on November 19, 1942, Gerald was the son of the late John Wray, Sr. and Blanche Praytor Wray.

Gerald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christine Wray; his brothers, Johnny and Fred Wray; and his sisters, Margaret Roberts, and Martha Bucklew.

He is survived by his brother Louie Wray of Benton; sister-in-law Sue Wray of Benton; and many loving nieces and nephews. Gerald was especially devoted to his twin nieces, Lisa Roth of Hot Springs and Lorraine Roye of Benton, whom he raised as his own with the help of his mother. He also leaves behind his cherished dog, Cocoa, who was always by his side.

Gerald spent many years detailing cars for Raymond Thomas and Angus Ferguson, where he was widely known for his exceptional skill and dedication. Later in life, after marrying Christine, he moved to Texarkana and worked at Kerr McGee until his retirement.

He was a longtime member of Benton First Church of the Nazarene. Gerald enjoyed fox hunting, fishing, camping and riding his bicycle, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the many friends who visited Gerald, the staff at Heartland Rehab and Nursing Home, especially Donna and her team, and the kind professionals of Hospice Care. A special thank you goes to his devoted caregiver, Ramona Weise who was truly an angel to Gerald and the entire family.

Gerald's warmth, humor, and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday, May 3 at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with services beginning at 11:00 AM.
