Christy
Brown
May 15, 1939 — Apr 30, 2026
Benton
Christy Brown, age 86, of Benton, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026. She was born on May 15, 1939, in McClellan, Arkansas, to Clyde & Edna Tate.
Christy devoted many years of her professional career as an administrative assistant for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Basketball coach. She was known for her dedication, kindness, and strong work ethic.
On May 9, 1988, she married Max Brown, the love of her life. Together they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Christy faithfully attended New Life Baptist Church in Alexander, where her faith in God remained the foundation of her life.
Christy was preceded in death by her parents Clyde & Edna Tate; her brother Clovis Tate; her sister Donna Rutledge; and her grandson Todd Lowe.
She is survived by her loving husband, Max Brown; her children Jeff Mabry and wife Deanna, Jodi Westbrook and husband Brent, and Janet Waddle; her sister Billie Heard; her grandchildren, Jennifer Green and husband Joel, Boone Mabry and wife Melanie, Justin Jackson and wife Christa, Stacy Fogler and husband Dennis; her nine great grandchildren, Kamden & Kase Green, Laiken & Levi Mabry, Blakelee & Davis Jackson, Dylan, Logan, & Carly Fogler; her one great great grandchild Delilah Motta; and stepsons Danny & Jeff Brown.
Christy was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished mother in law, and a very special grandmother, and great grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her family and made each child and grandchild feel loved and special. She was deeply proud of her kids and grandkids and all their accomplishments and joys. Her kindness, strength, encouragement, and presence were gifts that will be carried in their hearts forever.
Christy loved life, the Lord, and loved her family deeply. She always enjoyed looking her best-from her hair and nails to always buying new clothes-and she carried herself with grace and style. She loved traveling around the world with her husband Max and was proud to have visited all 50 states. Nothing brought her more joy than gathering her family in her home, where she was famous for making the best pies anyone has ever tasted.
Christy touched the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing she is home again in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
Pallbearers will be Boone Mabry, Joel Green, Kamden Green, Kase Green, Justin Jackson, and Logan Fogler. Honorary Pallbearer is Todd Lowe.
