Connie Lee (Vaughn) Simpson, 71, of Benton, Arkansas, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock, AK, surrounded by family and friends.
Connie, a native of Ironton, OH, was born August 16, 1953, daughter of the late John B.(Jack) Vaughn and Gladys (Stewart) Vaughn of Lawrence County, OH.
Connie was a graduate of Ironton High School, Class of 1972. She attended Sharon Baptist Church in Benton, AK, where she resided with her husband, Raymond Simpson and son, Eric Francis, for the past 33 years. She retired as an administrative assistant from the Department of Health, Little Rock, AK. Connie enjoyed camping, bowling, fishing and was an avid Ohio State Football fan.
Connie, a giving person, loved coming home during summer months to spend time with family and friends, never missing family activities or events. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Preceded in death by her father, Jack Vaughn, mother, Gladys Vaughn, and older sister, Deondra Sue Bare.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Simpson, son, Eric Francis, (Carla Crook), stepson, Chuck Simpson, sisters; Cathie (Greg) Webb(Connie's twin), Jackie Vaughn, and Gerri (Paul) Hutchinson; Grandchildren, Austin Francis (Bethany McBride), Justin Francis, Italy Simpson; Great-grandson Kaysen Francis; nieces,Melissa, Crissi, Holly, Sara, Heather, Ashley; Great-nieces, Keirsten, Mariah, Kylee, Mary, Maddie, Jaycee, Kaylen; Great-nephews, Landon, Kane, Tanner, Bryden, Karter, and faithful canine companions, Bella and Red.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25th from 6-8pm at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th St., Ironton, OH. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 26th at 12:00 pm, with Reverend Steve Harvey officiating. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
