Dale W. Harrison, 82, passed away on July 20, 2023. He was born February 24, 1941, in Kensett, AR to the late Kermit and Ima Harrison.

Dale grew up in Newport, AR, graduating from Newport High School in 1959, where he lettered in football and basketball. He was an outstanding curveball pitcher for the Newport American Legion baseball team. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Keedy, in 1961. Dale graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in math and physical education. He played four years of baseball as a starting pitcher for the AState Indians.

After college, Dale began his career as a high school math teacher and basketball coach. He went on to start a second career with Arkansas Power and Light, ultimately retiring in 1996 as Director of Purchasing in New Orleans, LA.

Retirement wasn't for Dale, so once again he became a teacher this time with the Bryant School District where he was awarded Teacher of the Year at Bethel Middle School.

Dale is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Gerald, sister Vicki Milliken, and his brother-in-law Billy Keedy.

He is survived by his wife Linda, his sons, Craig, Tic (Michelle), and Jon (Diane). He was the best granddaddy to his five grandchildren, Keedy Dineen (Sean), Macy Claire, Cole, Paige, Ozzie, and his one great grandchild, Camden Dineen.

Dale was a devout Christian, attending Congo Methodist Church. Through the years, he served the Lord as a faithful follower both in words and in action. He mentored hundreds of students and players on and off the field. He loved to crappie fish, spend time at the deer camp with his family, and taught his boys how to be gentleman. Above all other hobbies, baseball was the passion of the Harrison family.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, AR on Wednesday, July 26th from 9-10 a.m. Funeral service begins at 10 a.m. Gravesite will be at Pinecrest Cemetery in Bryant following the service.

Pallbearers are Kirk Bock, Mike Wylie, Dustin Easterly, Timmy Poe, Andrew Moseley, and Travis Wood.

Honorary pallbearer is Jason Rowton.
