Daley Bain, age 87, of Bauxite, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He was born April 8, 1937 in Nashville, Arkansas. Daley served in the U.S. Navy on a ship. He was a hard working man and always provided for his family. Daley worked for Borden's out of Little Rock for 10 years. He then bought a small grocery store in Benton called the Bread Basket. After selling the Bread Basket, he started doing what he loved by hauling cars to auctions. He had street rods and antique cars. His '35 Model Chevy Coupe won 1st place at a car show and his '55 Model Chevy Truck won 1st place.
On the weekends he would go out to his daughters and be with his birds (Ostrich, Emu's, and Rhea's). Daley got in this business on the side with his son-in-law Phillip Clardy and they called it the Glen Rose Rhea and Emu Ranch. His favorite Rhea was solid white and named it Casper.
He was always telling jokes and loved his family. Daley was a huge Razorback fan!!! He enjoyed keeping his yard & cars clean and loved having a garden. Daley loved the Lord and The Gaithers Gospel Muisc. He was a member of Brooks Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Bauxite.
Daley is preceded in death by his parents, Uelius "UB" Bain and Louise Walker Bain; 1st wife of 46 years, Syble Morrow Bain; 2nd wife, Rada Bain; daughter, Cynthia Rae Bain Combs; granddaughter, Gracie Shea Combs; three brothers, George, Ed, and Joe Bain; and a sister, Margaret Bain Aylett.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Bain Clardy (Phillip); two step-daughters, Regina Bryant Parker (Ron) and Robin Bryant Sanders (Mike); two sisters, Inez Cumbie and Ramona Elrod; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
He had a nickname for his grandson Shain Clardy "Shainie Boy" and his granddaughters Tasha Clardy Goss "Toot Toot", Amber Combs Threlkeld "The Quick Change Artist" and Gracie Combs "Sweetie Pie". He was so proud when he had his grandkids Shain Clardy. Tasha Clardy Goss, Amber Elizabeth Combs Threlkeld, and Gracie Combs. They all called him Pop!!! Daley was also Pop to all his great-grandkids Quinton Speer, Presley Clardy, Skylar Clardy, Fallon Goss, Colton Goss, and Noah Threlkeld.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15 at Ashby Funeral Home.
The family would like to ask for everyone to wear Razorback shirts in honor of Daley.
