Daniel (Danny) McPherson, age 70, of Benton, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, with his wife, Sandra, at his side. Danny fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Danny was born May 8, 1955, to J.G and Olga Lovell McPherson. He married Sandra Johnson on August 20, 1976.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra (Johnson) McPherson; daughter Stephanie (Chris) Richards; son Lee McPherson and grandson B.D. McPherson (his buddy); Brother Joel (Jackie) McPherson; Sister Ora Lee Yates; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Danny was a Christian man and a very private person. He was an excellent hunter and fisherman earning the Triple Trophy Award from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission many times. He was a carpenter for 25 until he retired from Phillips Home Builders.

Danny had a green thumb evidenced by his thriving garden each year. He enjoyed taking care of his chickens. He made it his mission to look after his elderly aunts, family, friends and neighbors that needed help. If you needed help, Danny was there for you. He loved his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Ashby Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, 12/18, 5-7 p.m.  Graveside service will be held at the McPherson Cemetery in Benton Friday, 12/19, 10 a.m., being officiated by his nephew, Austin Pritchard.

Pallbearers will be James Chaney, Barry Chaney, Blair Chaney, Chris Poston, Elbert Ramsey and J.D. Harris.
