Danny Harris Gartrell, 73, of Benton, Born December 13, 1950 in Little Rock, AR, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 20.

Danny was a member of Vimy Ridge Immanuel Baptist Church, but last attended First Baptist Church in Benton.

He was preceded in death by his father Willie J. Gartrell, Sr., his mother Estella "Doodle" Gartrell, and his brother W.J. "Junior" Gartrell, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda "Kay" Diemer-Gartrell, daughter Niki and husband Steven Mathews, daughter Dana Gartrell, son Brian Gartrell, daughter Danielle Gartrell, and son Logan Aaron.  Also survived by seven grandchildren: Matthew Hunsicker, Kayla Streepey, Johnathan Streepey, Cali Mathews, Hannah Gartrell, Henry Gartrell and Brey Blahitka, as well as several loved nephews, nieces and cousins.

Danny graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1969 and attended UALR and University of Oklahoma.

He served in the U.S. Army in the 5th Battalion 77th Artillery, a Sergeant Missile unit, stationed in Wiesbaden Germany from 1970-1972 and was Honorably Discharged as Sergeant E-5.

Danny worked as a Wellhead Gas Measurement Technician in the natural gas and oil fields in Northeast Texas, and worked as an Industrial and Commercial Large Gas Meter Measurement Technician all across Arkansas.  Danny retired, after working almost a quarter of a century, from Arkla Gas Company.  After his retirement from Arkla, he Owned and Operated Pro-Installers-a residential and commercial siding company.

For many years, Danny and Kay enjoyed fishing and water sports as well as their houseboat on Lake Ouachita.  Danny also enjoyed making custom picture frames, some of which were hung in the Arkansas State Capitol building.

Danny loved his family fiercely and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 am Tuesday, November 26 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
