Danny Ray Rickard, 77, of Paron, AR passed away February 18, 2025 and was born February 12, 1948. He was affectionately referred to as "Pop" by many because that was the name given to him by his grand and great-grandchildren. Pop was the son of the late Dayton and Nora Jones Rickard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, sisters, and his daughter, Tawnya Rickard.

Pop is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mildred Rickard ("Mem"), a son: Michael Williams; Five grandchildren: Kelsey (Quinton) Brule', Dustin (Lydia) Williams, Megan (Hayden) Williams, Carissa Rowland, & Vanessa Rowland; Six great-grandchildren: Kailey, Skyla, Camden, Gunner, Levi, Gracelynn, and one on the way; and a host of extended family members and many, many friends.

Pop retired from the US Postal Service in 2024, in addition he spent many years in the logging woods, crystal mining, and as the best butcher around. Pop loved to spend time outdoors in God's creation whether he was hunting, playing with great-grandbabies, on his tractor, watching the ponies run, sitting at a slot machine, or raising the best catfish pond. He enjoyed hearing Jason sing, purchasing his daily lottery ticket, and was faithful to take "Mem" on her weekly dates. Pop attended Buffalo Church until the doors closed, but still spent his time with God and enjoyed sermons at home. Pop was a loving husband, father, Pop, uncle, friend, with a kind soul and a fiery spark willing to do anything for those he loved. Anyone who knew him, knew his love for his family. To borrow the words of a song, "You'll be in our hearts, from this day on, now & forever more."

We will celebrate his life, his "home-going", with a visitation scheduled for Monday, February 24th, 2025 from 6 to 8 pm at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton.

Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Walnut Bottoms Cemetery in Paron.

Pallbearers are: Jason Campbell, Jamie Campbell, Jessie Blaylock, Leon Blaylock, Brad Hunt, & Clay Johnson.
