Darryle Silas Moody, 73, of Benton, passed away on Monday, February 24th, 2025. Darryle was born in Benton, AR., on November 23, 1951.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Cleona Mae and Father Dave Moody.

Darryle's memory is sustained by cousins Kim Frederick, Karen Shelnut, Melanie Davenport, Pat Davenport, Linda Montalvo, Kelly Don Williams, Nancy Moody, Lowell Moody and longtime companion Bonnie Moody of Furlow.

Darryle was a U.S. Army Veteran, beginning his career in October of 1970 as an E-1. Darryle's love for the service continued to reflect his success as he continued his service becoming an officer, and obtaining the rank of Captain, and separating from service in 1992. His service took him around the world, serving with Airborne, and as a Military police Commanding Officer.

After his Military career, Darryle went on to work for the Arkansas State Police.

Darryle was a U of A alum, receiving his B.A in Law Enforcement and M.A in Sociology.

Darryle is remembered as a very kind and caring person, and quick friend to everyone he had a chance to meet. His love for his mother Mae was known by everyone he met. His character was also one of intrigue as he remained deeply interested in carrying on his love for the military, through reading and learning about the variances of service, and the challenges faced over time by those who served.

Visitation will be held at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 6-8 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at Rosemont Cemetery in Benton on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project, or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
