David "Gene" Eugene Nelson, age 74, of Benton, passed away Saturday. January 4, 2025. He was born January 9, 1950 in Niles, Michigan. Gene was a retired Mechanic, A US Army Veteran and of the Lutheran faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Eugene Coultas Sr. and Ida J. Coultas; one brother; and two sisters, Jewel E. Backus and Carrie Ann Lesauskis.

David is survived by his wife, LuAnn Nelson; daughters, Heather Miller and Vicki Nelson; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
