David Barron passed away November 20, 2024, just shy of his 77th birthday. He would have complained about his gifts anyhow. He was born November 26, 1947, in Riverside County, California.

Anyone who knew him would tell you that Dave was an avid lover of animals and the F word.

He met his wife, Norma, in his teens by peeking over their shared fence to sneak a glance at her in her swimsuit. He would go on to spend the rest of his life with her.

He spent his early years in the United States Marine Corps. It was during this time that they would be blessed with their daughter, DeWanna.

When his service in the United States Marine Corps came to an end, he purchased a bait shop and motel on Lake Greeson. And so it was that he and his wife would pack up and move across the country to Arkansas where he would spend the rest of his days.

In 1989, he became Papa Dave, after the birth of his granddaughter, Treell. To his dismay, it was not a grandson, so her first stuffed animal was Joe Montana. She would be given Swiss Army Knives her entire childhood.

Dave spent most of his days propped up on his store's counter covered in polaroids of that month's largest catch, flyswatter in hand, sharing in the community's latest gossip. He was boisterous and always willing to remind you in conversation that he was a former Marine. He never shied away from throwing hands a single day in his life.

As tough as he was, Dave had a soft spot for animals. He rescued multiple animals in his community during his time there. He helped homeless dogs and cats every chance he got. He even rescued a Tyson chicken once.

He was known in his local community as "Super Dave", a nickname he earned by taking his bass boat full speed across the water. He never missed a good opportunity to fish or raise hell.

He took the role of Papa Dave very seriously. He would continue that role with his great grandchildren.

There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family. He was a husband, a father, and a grandpa. During his time spent serving these roles he instilled work ethic, strength, and most of all compassion.

David is survived by his wife, Norma Barron of Murfreesboro. His daughter DeWanna House of Murfreesboro. His granddaughter Treell Gorden and her spouse Kyle Gorden of Benton, and their three children Timber, Archer and Creek. His sister Judy Barron-Rodgers of California. His sister Donna Reed of Oklahoma.

There will be no services held per Dave's request as he did not want people gawking at him, especially people he did not like!
