David Presley Harper, age 74, of Benton, joined his heavenly family September 15, 2024.  David was born July 3, 1950 to Warren & Doris Harper in Benton Arkansas. David was a 1968 Benton High School graduate.  He was an Eagle Scout and an avid hunter.  He enjoyed boating and was an expert water skier.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Anne Harper, his parents, Warren & Doris Harper, his daughter, Karen Zeimer, and grandson, Richie Covert.

He is survived by his daughters, Erica Scammell (Jeremy), Tamara Woods (Jerold), Robin Arredondo (Archie), son - Richard Covert, Sister, Debbie Melton (Greg), Nephews, Corey Melton, Zachary Melton, grandchildren, Cameron Beers (Jarrod), Tarynn Woods, Micah Woods, Jessica Burgess (Alex), Rachel Arredondo, Alexis Arredondo, Courtney Covert, 6 great-grandchildren, and his lifelong best friend, James Spears.

After retiring from Reynolds, David and Rose Anne moved to Lake Norrell where they enjoyed having family and friends over, staying all day out on the water.  The Lake Norrell community welcomed them and they made lifelong friends.

David was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 23, 2024, at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Monday before the services.
