David Wood, 74, of Benton, Arkansas, went to be home with the Lord peacefully doing what he enjoyed most on April 29, 2024. He was born in Aston, England on April 26, 1950 to the late Phillip and Gladys Wood.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Carol, and two daughters Tammy Mills and husband Danny of Benton, Sandra Houpt and husband Scott of Benton, and three grandchildren: Shelby Eoff and husband Austin, Hunter Lacy and wife Skylaar, and Morgan Williams and husband Kaleb; and one great grandchild Bear David Lacy. He is also survived by his brother Jeff Wood of Alexander, and several special cousins, nephews, and nieces.

David retired from Alcoa after 32 years. He and his wife, Carol, were dedicated members of Holland Chapel Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who deeply loved gardening, but was especially passionate about deer and turkey hunting. He was most happy in the great outdoors, with his family, or with his friends. His activities all stemmed around these things. All of the friends he made through his hunting adventures and at work will always hold a very special place in his heart. David loved to cook and have family gatherings- whether that was at holidays or small family meals with his children and grandchildren. Everyone looked forward to going to Meme and Papaw's house.

He is loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. 2 Timothy 4:7 "I Have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 6 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 7 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
