David Lee Woodall, age 76, of Benton, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 after a battle with cancer.
He was born on October 26, 1948 to Chester and Loease Woodall in Morrilton, Arkansas. David was a 1968 graduate of Benton High School and went on to study welding at Pines Vocational School in Pine Bluff.
David worked at Brown & Root, Missouri Pacific Railroad, Reynolds Metal, and retired as state welder for 27 years for the Arkansas Highway Department.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Woodall; son, Chet (Jamie) Woodall; grandsons, Walker Woodall and Jace (Laura) Cooper; granddaughter, Haydin (Sean) Thorton; three beautiful great-grandchildren, Hallie, Ila, and Leah; brother, Mike (Renea) Woodall; sister-in-law, Rose Neighbors; brother-in-law, Johnny (Joy) Barnette; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, & cousins. David loved his faithful companion, Hopper.
David played football for the Benton Panthers. As a young man, he enjoyed playing baseball at Tyndall Park and hitting many homeruns.
He attended Grape Chapel Church of God. David was in the National Guard for 6 years. He loved steer wrestling in rodeos around Arkansas and was President of the ACA. David developed a love for water skiing, scuba diving, and spear fishing. He spent many hours riding his Harley with friends.
David was predeceased by his parents; grandparents, Wesley & Gola Mae Francis and Jim & Effie Woodall; brother, Stanley Woodall; nephew, Jakob Keene; and brother-in-law, Phillip Neighbors.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Ashby Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grape Chapel Church of God @ 7100 Hwy 298 in Benton, Ar 72019.
