D.L. (Lyndolph) Ziegler of Lonsdale, Arkansas, age 91 went to his heavenly home on September 7, 2023 surrounded by family. He was born March 7, 1932 to James Robert Ziegler and Willie Maine Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers, and a half-sister.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Bobbie Carter Ziegler, daughter Tracy (Casey) Phillips, son Randall (Leann) Ziegler, granddaughter they raised Amanda (Jonathan) Nance, and his ever-loving fur baby Elly. Grandchildren, Casey (Brandon) Caldwell, Amy Brazell, and Heather Taylor. Greatgrandchildren, Jude, Jessie, Daniel, Daphne, and Delilah. And a very special friend Ellen Davis-Ziegler.
He was a lifetime member of the Owensville Baptist Church. He was a 55+ member of the Rubicon Masonic Lodge. Member of the Congo Hill Eastern Star. He was also a Gideon. He served on many committees and organizations including the Fountain Lake school board, Farmer's Home Administration, Cattleman's Association, Owensville Cemetery Association, and Ziegler Quartet. He was the youngest member ever appointed to the Farmer's Home Administration Committee at the age of 19. He was a self-employed lifetime farmer. He was Farm Family of the Year in 1960. After many surgeries and complications from a ruptured appendix at the age of 17 years old, he was told he would never be able to do manual labor, but he beat the odds and made his living farming cattle.
He was a mischief maker, master prankster, and he was the greatest example of love, contentment, and compassion.
Visitation will be September 12, 2023 at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas from 6-8 PM.
A memorial service will be held at Owensville Baptist Church on September 13, 2023 at 10 AM. Following the service, internment will be at Owensville Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Greg Greeson, Dr. Patrick Spivey, Michael Johnson, Barry Chaney, Blair Chaney, James Chaney, John Truelove, and Van Turbyfill.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy James, Gerald Wilson, Larry Richardson, Randy Noblett, Dr. Jeff Mayfield, and Rick Odom.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Owensville Cemetery c/o Sue Wilson 5087 Ziegler Road, Lonsdale, AR 72087.
