Dollene Beatrice Smith, age 91, of Benton, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024.  She was born May 22, 1933 in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas then moved to Fordyce and eventually to Benton.  Dollene graduated from Harmony Grove and went on to work at Curtis Mathis for several years.  She loved butterflies, flowers, and cats.  Dollene always made sure everyone was safe, fed and clothed.  Her grandson Derek Jr. took her to town every week to shop & most of what she bought was for other people.  Dollene was a member of Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James & Theda Smith; husband, Cecil Smith; brother, John Smith; and a grandson, Dylan Smith.

Dollene is survived by two sons, Derek Smith Sr. and Phillip Smith; two brothers, Sterling Howard Smith and Hugh Smith; four grandchildren, Kelsey Everett, Derek Smith Jr., Tiffany Smith, and Parker Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Trey, Katie, and Jase Everett.  She also raised a special niece, Arlinda.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 14 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 15 at Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Fairplay Cemetery.  Bro. Bob Wiegel will be officiating.
