Doris Elizabeth Ritchey died Friday May 26, 2023 at Arkansas Health Center, at the age of 77. She was born April 16, 1946 in Benton, Arkansas to Wyatt Alman Ritchey and Myrtle Caple Ritchey. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Thelma Ritchey Crowson, and brother –in-law, Ray Crowson.

She is survived by her nieces, Mamie Crowson, Theresa Crowson, and Helen Whitson, nephew, Michael Crowson, great-niece, Dr. Kristen Whitson, aunt, Marie Ritchey Smith, and numerous cousins. She was a life-long member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

Doris attended the Civitan School as a child and again as an adult. She loved to crochet and make doll clothes and blankets without a pattern, winning several ribbons at the Saline County Fair. She won the award for biggest catch at the 2019 AHC Fishing Contest. She loved dressing up for Halloween and won best costume as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz at the Civitan Group Home and as Raggedy Ann at AHC. She liked cats, playing board games, puzzles, bowling, having her picture taken, and having her fingernails painted.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held at Ashby Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 31th at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Social Hill Cemetery. Dr. Shari Day will officiate.

Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, Civitan, Saline County Humane Society, or the charity of your choice.
