Dorthey Ann Turpin (Dot/Grandma Dot) of Paron, Arkansas passed away on July 6th, 2026, she was 83 years of age. She was born February 12th, 1943 in a tent in Bauxite, Arkansas to Samuel Taylor Yates and Helen (Howard) Yates. She had 3 Siblings Peggy Gibbons, she was proceeded by two sisters Carolyn Finkbiner and Jane Jones.
She married Clarence Luther Turpin, January 29th, 1963. She and Clarence are survived by two children, one Clarence adopted and treated as his own at age 6 months, Gary Michael Turpin and one they had together, Milton Luther Turpin.
Her immediate family consisted of:
Gary Turpin married to Kathy, has 2 daughters Tiffany Guenther and Amanda Edelen
Milton Turpin married to Carla, has 3 daughters, Kasi Monroe, Kayla Gill, Destiny Turpin
Dot had 3 stepson's from Clarence who were also a part of her Great Family:
Michael Turpin married to Gwen, has 4 daughters and 2 sons, Michael Anthony Turpin, Melissa Lee, Dana Turpin, Dawn Turpin, Chris Turpin proceeded by Michelle Madden
Kenny Turpin married to Carolyn has 1 daughter and 1 son, Evonda Mobley, Brad Turpin
Ed Turpin, proceeded by wife Donna has 1 daughter and 1 son, Jacqueline Turpin, Marcus Turpin
Grandma Dot loved spending time with family and adored all of the grandkids, in fact, she had 5 grandchildren and 9 step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and she was loved by them all.
She loved spending Saturday nights at the I-30 Speedway, and the roaring of those engines was a big thrill and was an avid Nascar Fan.
She loved sports and especially loved and rooted for the Arkansas Razorbacks. She was most at home outdoors, planting flowers and vegetables and she loved planting and eating tomatoes. Did you ever hear her say that she really loved Arkansas Tomatoes? We Love you Grandma!
One of her personal accomplishments was that she proudly earned her GED in 1985
She loved traveling to new places including California which she talked about often and mentioned that she loved putting her toes in the Ocean.
She is preceded by her parents and her husband of 41 years Clarence Turpin
Pallbearers are Rommel Gill, Matt Guenther, Mark Harrison, Larry Monroe, Seth Monroe, Jimmy Russell. Greg Russell
The Funeral will be held at Ashby Funeral Home, 108 W Narrow St., Benton, AR 72015
Visitation will be at 10 am - 11 am Tuesday, July 14 followed by services at 11 am - Noon, she then will be transported to Cold Springs Cemetery in Paron Arkansas 72122 which will be her final resting place beside her Loving Husband Clarence Turpin and will be among other loved and departed family members.
You will be truly missed Grandma Dot as we place you back into the Loving hands of your Mom – Great Grandmother Helen and God, may you rest in Peace.
