Emma Jean Mills, 81, of the Salem community, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Mills; three children, Debbie (Bodie) Nance, Tommy (Shari) Mills, & Jennifer (Kevin) Wilcox; seven grandchildren, Dani (Todd) Hearn, Jessie (Dan) Stovall, Rachel (Brandon) Wooten, Justin (Payton) Mills, Mary (Austin) Wallace, Wade Wilcox & Whit Wilcox; seven great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Wilma Thomas, Jerry Davis, and Bobby Davis

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene & Lecie Davis and brother, Homer Davis.

Emma grew up in Malvern, AR.  As a teen she moved to Los Angeles where she graduated from Banning High School and met the love of her life, Johnnie.  Together they moved back to Central Arkansas to raise their family.

Emma was happiest cheering on her grandkids at their numerous sporting events.  Before grandkids she enjoyed coaching softball, watching countless kids practice ball on the "field of dreams" that John built in their backyard, and wowing her family and friends with her fried chicken and chocolate pies.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21 and funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 22 all at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, AR.  Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Bryant.  Pastor Chris Kinzler will be officiating.

The family has asked for no visitors at this time as they mourn her loss.
