Obituary

Emogene "Jean" Gober, 84, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026.  She was born in Ida, Arkansas on July 13,1941, to the late Newton and Annie Miller.  After graduation from Wilbur school in 1959, she moved to central Arkansas and met the love of her life, Norman Gober to whom she was married for over 60 years.

Jean worked in the cafeteria at Harmony Grove School, was a hair dresser in Benton, and a volunteer as a classroom aide at Northside Church of Christ Day School where she was a member.  She enjoyed being a wife, mom, grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Woody and Charles Miller; a sister, Lou Maples; brother and sister-in-law, Elsie and Harold; and a grandchild, Tanner Gober.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Gober, son, Tony (Shelly) Gober and their children, Alyson (Billy) Webb and Dyllon (Ashley) Sarlo and the grandchildren Aubrey and Wrenley Webb and Kailyn and Konley Sarlo, all of Bryant, a grandson, Heath Gober, his daughter, Aria, his mother, Donita Sample and Heath's sister Aniyah Sample, a son, Mark (Sarah) Gober of Benton, and their children, Morgan Gober-Casey (Chris) and their children Grace and Bentley of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Jesse (Kathryn) Gober, of Benton, Miranda Johnson (Cody) and child, Billy Lee of Benton.

There will be a private celebration of Jean's life.  Arrangements are entrusted to Ashby's of Benton. A special thanks to the caring staff of Hospice Home Care of Bryant.

In lieu of flowers the family would request donations to be made to the Corin Read Christian Camp or send donations to Northside Church of Christ earmarked for Jesse and Kathryn Gober's Lithuania Mission Trip.
