Emogene Hudson Scott, 95, of Benton, passed away peacefully in her home on March 9, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence and Gertie Lee Hudson. During her childhood, Emogene, along with her parents and siblings, moved to Hazen, Arkansas and then later to Pine Bluff before finally settling in Benton, Arkansas where she met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Robert Scott, whom she was married to for 48 years before his passing in 1996.
She was a devoted mother to her two children Patty and Robert, her greatest pride and joy. Beyond her role as a mother, Emogene was a dental assistant for 45 years at a dentist office in Benton, Arkansas. She was also an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for more than 65 years.
In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and staying active in church and also helping with her grandchildren whom she cherished. Her home was a haven of laughter and warmth, especially on holidays, where her family gathered for meals, funny stories and wonderful memories.
She lived her life with an unwavering dedication to her family and was the true definition of what a perfect and genuine wife, mother and grandmother should be.
Emogene was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Hudson and Gertie Lee Terry, her siblings, Nadine Harmon, Roy Hudson, Troy Hudson and Hazel Lane and by her husband, Robert Scott.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty Larsen and son in law, Rodney Larsen of Benton, her son, Robert Scott and daughter in law, Kathleen Scott of Benton, seven grandsons, Ryan Larsen (Robin), Jarrod Larsen, Chad Scott, Rocky Kimbrell (Jessica), Ben O'Neal (Micaela), Billy Scott (Shelby), Hudson Scott and one granddaughter, Krystina Bullard (Cullen), all of Benton. Fifteen great grandchildren, Laci (Caleb), Luke, Mallory (Nathen), Kaity, Bennett, Brooks, Ayden, Peyton, Grayson, Chandler, Victoria, Emma, Carlee, Liam and baby Liv whom all loved and adored their Meme.
Emogene was a woman whose life was a testament to love, warmth and kindness which left a lasting and loving impression on everyone who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Benton, Arkansas on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton, Arkansas. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
