Obituary

Gary Lynn Hunt of Haskell, AR., passed away on December 7, 2023 due to complications from a stroke.

He was born in Little Rock, AR on April 22, 1946. Gary went to Central High School and graduated from

Metropolitan High School in Little Rock in 1966 while serving in the Navy Reserves during 1964-1966. He

completed two years of Bible College at Central Baptist College in Conway, AR.

Gary was married to Ann Hunt on August 12, 1967.

Gary is survived by his wife, Ann; his three children, Shawnna Daniel, Shannon Stevens, and Salina Hunt

all of Benton, AR; his sister, Sandra Hunt; his eight grandchildren, Bryan Daniel, Sierra Hunt, Brad Daniel,

Dylan Shamlin, Austin Trusty, Hudson Trusty, Landon Stevens, and Selah Stevens; his seven great

grandchildren, Madison Daniel, Aubree Daniel, Chloe Laflamme, Malachi Hunt, Micah Hunt, Macy Hunt,

and Riley Daniel; and many other family members and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Janice Hunt; three brothers, Don Hunt, Jimmy

Hunt, and David Hunt.

Gary adored his wife, family, and his Huskie dog, Mylo – they were his pride and joy. He retired in 2000

from Colorbox in Visalia, CA. He was an avid student of the Bible, enjoyed reading and ministering to

others, including volunteering as a Hospice Chaplain and preaching God's Word each weekend at The

Salvation Army. He was ordained by Ray Branscum and went on to pastor Antioch Baptist Church in

BeeBee, AR for a few years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, metal detecting, and swimming. His

many talents included singing, playing guitar and harmonica, wood working, drawing, and painting. He

had a very humorous personality and will be dearly missed by all who love him.

The service will be held at Gary's church, Celebration Baptist Church in Haskell, AR on December 11,

2023; visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. His

grandson, Brad Hunt and Pastor, Allan Eakin, will be officiating.
