Gary Wendell Williams, 77, of Benton, passed away Wednesday May 15, 2024 with his family by his side.  He was born October 6, 1946 in Malvern, Arkansas.  Gary was Chief Counsel for the Arkansas Employment Security Division.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Gail Edwards Williams; his parents, Wendell and Girtrue Williams; sister, Martha Graham (Jimmy); and brother, Donald Williams.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Alisha Hawkins (Chris) and Alison Karnes (Tony); his longtime love, Phronda Ray and her daughter Ramona Thomas (Tony); grandchildren, Mason Jett, Colton Jett, Carter Hawkins, Cara Grace Hawkins, Arlo Karnes, and Crosby Karnes; sister, Marilyn Soma (Ronnie); sisters-in-law, Dianna Williams and Judith Nash (Warren); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 20 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 at Léau Fraiz Cemetery in Malvern.
