Georgia Dale Vice Dixon, 88 of Benton, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 3, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on May 31, 1935 in Atlanta, Texas to George and Jessie Davis Vice. She was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church for over 35 years where she loved handing out bulletins with Patsy Culp and visiting people as they came in the doors. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, George Vice, Jr. and Donald Vice; sisters, Ruth Thompson and Joy Richards.
Georgia is survived by her husband of 63 years, Royal Dixon; one daughter, Marlena (Ricky) Smart of Benton and one son, Eddie (Susan) Dixon of Austin, Texas; brother, Carroll Vice of Centerton, Arkansas, sister-n-law, Betty Vice (George Vice, Jr.); brother-n-law, Doyle (Thelma) Dixon of Texas. She had four grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Reynolds of Benton, Amber (Jesse) Crumby of Benton, Grant (Melissa) Dixon of San Antonio, Texas and Chad Dixon of Carrolton, Texas. She had four great grandchildren: Kayleigh and Kent Crumby of Benton, Emory Reynolds of Benton, and Sophia Dixon of San Antonio, Texas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Georgia had several special friends: Mike and Patsy Culp, Pat Stuckey, Dr. Richard and Gean Simmons, Pat Burrow, and Patsy Kuhn along with many other friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to her longtime doctor and nephew, Dr. Mark Vice; Mt. Carmel Assisted Living; Pleasant Hills Senior Adult Services (Kristi Gwatney and workers), and Saline Memorial Hospice. We would also like to recognize very special friends she made at Mt. Carmel including Randy Jones; Betty Johnson, who she prayed with and loved dearly; Linda McGuire, CNA, that she depended on and loved; Agi, who made her laugh and was there when Linda wasn't; Megan and Miranda, her nurses she loved; Joe, the van driver along with many more.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Crumby, Mike Culp, Tim Finley, Justin Reynolds, Carroll Vice, and Dr. Mark Vice.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ron Ballou, Russell Nolan, Charles Pearce, and Dr. Richard Simmons.
Funeral services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6th at Ashbys with Ministers Kim Hammer and Nick Calaway officiating. Burial will follow at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.
Visitation will be at Ashbys, Tuesday, September 5th at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Holland Chapel Baptist Church.
