Glenda Gale Jenkins, 72, peacefully passed to her Heavenly home on September 26, 2025 while surrounded by her family. She was born in Benton, Arkansas on March 12, 1953. Glenda was the seventh of the eight children born to Rome James ("RJ") Henry and Gladys ("Dote") Henry.

Glenda was a hardworking woman who passed her work ethic and love of nature to her children. She loved the outdoors and claimed to be the best shot in her family of deer hunters. Glenda was tenacious in getting what she wanted, such as her family genealogy and the history of Benton and Saline County History and Memories.

Glenda was preceded by her pa rents, her husband, James Jenkins, and her siblings, Patricia Mason, James Henry, Phyllis Henry, Rodney Henry, and Pamella Ivy.

Glenda was proud of her children; she is survived by Christy (Steve) Waddell, Jamie (Shawn) Mathis, and Justin (Cari Jo) Jenkins. Glenda was   the proud grandmother of Cory (Courtney Dourhit) Mathis, Kyle Overton, Karissa Waddell, Audrey Burnett, and bonus granddaughters, Scarlette Francis and Gennifer McFadden. She doted on her great-grandchildren, the youngest being Silas, Effie, and Lacey.

Glenda siblings, Don Henry and Beverly Maddox also survive her and mourn her passing.

Also surviving are her many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends, particularly in the genealogy and historical Benton Saline County communities. She will be missed.

Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, September 29th at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton; funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM.

Per Glenda's emphatic and oft stated wish, she will be buried between her beloved father and husband at the Social Hill Cemetery in Benton.
