On August 22, 2023, Henry David Mayberry, age 80 of Benton, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully.
David was born on February 7, 1943 in Benton, Arkansas to Fred and Fern Mayberry. A lifetime Benton resident, David graduated from Benton High School then joined the Air Force as a firefighter to serve his county. After returning home, David spent his working years employed by Alcoa. David was a skilled woodworker and made many beautiful items for his family and others. He also loved hunting and fishing and looked forward to hunting season every year.
David was a lifelong and faithful member of Northside Church of Christ. He gave his time and energy to work on projects for the church and helping others in any way that he could. He assisted with the food pantry, building projects, and with the church youth camp.
David was a devoted family man and always available at a moment's notice to assist his family in any way necessary. David was a man of few but powerful words when needed. David especially enjoyed his grandchildren and his great granddaughter, all of whom called him "Pops".
David was preceded in death by his parents and son, Clint Mayberry and his brothers, William Mayberry and Leon Foster.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Mayberry, son, Roger Mayberry, daughter, Andrea Kirkpatrick, granddaughters, Hannah Cowling and Morgan Mayberry; great granddaughter, Blakely Ashley. He is also survived by his brother, James Mayberry, sisters, Edna Weger and Betty Davis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on August 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Northside Church of Christ followed by a brief Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corin Reed Church Camp. The family especially thanks Gentiva Hospice services.
