Howard Kitchens, age 77, of Benton, went to be with Jesus on December 7, 2023.  He was born August 13, 1946 in Benton, Arkansas.  He died at his home surrounded by family and friends.

He was a Christian, loved hunting, fishing, and visiting with classmates of 1967 from Bauxite High School.  He devoted much time to his granddaughters Jaci and Alli in whatever they wanted to do.  Howard loved showing and looking at his completely restored 1968 Super Chevelle.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Grady & Margie Kitchens and a brother, Harold Kitchens.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Debbie Kitchens, who will miss him dearly; son, Jason Kitchens; daughter, Wendi Sams; father-in-law, JC Halpain; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Craig and Pam Halpain; sister-in-law, Nelda Kitchens; three brothers, Herbert Kitchens (Donna), Hershell Kitchens, and Horace Dale Kitchens (Nancy); sister, Elizabeth Taylor; two granddaughters, Jaci Sams and Alli Sams; and Blaze his faithful dog.

Pallbearers will be David Halpain, Daniel Halpain, Jackson Halpain, Adrian Lupton, Alex Lawhon, Roman Muniz, Cass Neighbors, Todd Burrows, and Lance Kitchens.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 11 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 12 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Rosemont Cemetery.  Dr. Herbert Kitchens will be officiating.
