James Allen Brock, 86, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on August 30, 2025. He was born on April 30, 1939, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, and raised on a farm in nearby Webb — a place and way of life that shaped his character. James often said he was just an Iowa farm boy who enjoyed having his hands in the dirt, a sentiment that stayed with him throughout his life.

After earning a Master's degree in Engineering from Iowa State University, James became a registered professional engineer. His career in agricultural engineering took him to Butler Manufacturing in Kansas City, Missouri, Aerovent Inc. in Piqua, Ohio, and ultimately to Essick Air Products in Little Rock, where he retired.

James met the love of his life, Doris, in Kansas City. They were married in 1966 and shared nearly 60 years of love, joy, and devotion. Doris's seven children welcomed him with open arms, and James embraced his new family wholeheartedly. When Doris passed away on May 13, 2025, James found it difficult to continue without his soulmate, joining her shortly after.

A man of simple pleasures, James enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, grilling, and, above all, growing tomatoes — a passion that kept him close to his farming roots. He and Doris also loved to dance, and it's comforting to imagine them dancing together once again. Known for his quiet strength, kindness, quick wit, and humble nature, James left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Doris; his parents, Marguerite (Miller) Brock and Ernest Brock; siblings Duane Brock, Derald Brock (Helen), Gerald Brock (Barbara), and Esther McCaulley (Art); and stepdaughter Judy Lindley.

James is survived by his daughter, Daphne Pfeiffer (Jeffrey); his stepchildren, Jan Leslie, Danny Giacomo (Sherry), Bob Giacomo, Anthony Giacomo, Diana Costa (Steve), and Jimmy Giacomo; his sister, Madeline Rouse (John); as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate James's life will be held on September 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Bryant, Arkansas.

James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
