Obituary

James J. Prysock, 82, of Glen Rose, AR, passed away on September 1, 2024. He was a member, deacon, and song director at United Missionary Baptist Church. He was born on August 27, 1942 in Star City, AR, to Ed and Claire Prysock. He served in the Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, L.D. and Euna Campbell; two brothers-in-law, Dennis and Joe Campbell; and a sister-in-law, Vicki Campbell Brooks.

James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Lou, and two sons: Darren Prysock (Melissa) of Magnet Cove, AR, and Michael Prysock (Carrie) of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by three brothers: John Smith (Bonnie) of Lexa, AR, Bill Prysock (Kay) of Benton, AR, and Rick Prysock (Dileen) of Benton, AR; and a sister, Leisa Perry (Mark) of Ward, AR. James leaves behind three granddaughters: Kimberly, April, and Courtney; two grandsons, Sam and Scout; seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bryson Tittle, Brett Tittle, Billy Mahan, Trea Mahan, Bill Handley, Heath Bell, and Heath Massey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Welch, Ritchie Haley, and Gentiva Hospice Group.

Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.  Bro. Randy Ward will be officiating.
