James Raymond Smallwood of Benton, age 82, passed away July 22, 2024. He was born April 25, 1942 in Hot Springs Arkansas to the late Dr. Raymond and Irene Smallwood.

James graduated from Benton High School, served in the Army, retired from Reynolds Metals and was a long standing member of Highland Heights Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Smallwood.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years Linda Smallwood; three children, Sherri McBee, Ginger Davis and Mark Smallwood; brother David Smallwood; grandchildren Julie (Joey) Acree, Jacob Rollon, Alyson Elsen, Courtney (Jesse) Forrester, Jared (Liz) Elsen, Josh Dunlap and Kasie Smallwood; six great grandchildren; nephews Shane Smallwood and Jeff (Tiffany) Smallwood, niece Terri (Chris) Baumann.

James loved the Lord, enjoyed hunting, traveling and always looked forward to Saturday night dinners with friends. His family will miss his charming humorous character and never forget his love and support.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday at Ashby's.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel. Minister will be Bro. Brian Moore.
