James Franklin Vandergrift age 91, of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was born February 10, 1934 in Benton.  James was a retired Assistant Professor at of Radiology at UAMS, a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War, and of the Christian Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Floyd Vandergrift and Cansaida Elizabeth Weaver Vandergrift, son, Brent Vandergrift, and sisters, Donna Goodnight, and Nina Emery, brother, Samuel Dee Vandergrift

Survivors, wife, Vercie Beaty Vandergrift, sons and daughters-in-law, Brad (Lori) Vandergrift, and Mark (Jacquelyn) Vandergrift, daughter and son-in-law, Belinda (Gill) Rogers eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Pine Crest Cemetery. Minister will be Bro. Kim Hammer.
