Janie Dell White of Bryant, beloved mother, Nana, and sister, went home to be with Jesus on March 21, 2024. Janie was predeceased by her parents, Arley and Evelyn Duke, and her husband Charles.

Janie was a retired teacher and had a bachelor's degree in education from LRU (now UALR) and a master's degree in education from Harding University.  The last several years of her career were spent as a reading specialist at Perritt Primary School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Janie's lifelong love of music began at an early age.  She learned to play piano by using a paper keyboard, and as a young girl she played accordion at her church until they were able to purchase a piano. She and her husband Charles sang and played piano and organ at many churches throughout the years and blessed many through their music. Janie was a talented cook and baker and took great delight in preparing special treats for family and friends, and she was a wonderful hostess. Janie was devoted to the Lord and to her family, leaving a spiritual legacy of love and great kindness.

Janie is survived by daughter Susan (John, her favorite son-in-law) of Benton, Arkansas; two sons – Paul (Angela) White of Glen Rose, Arkansas and Mark (Julie) White of Bryant, Arkansas; five grandchildren – Zachary (Elizabeth) White of Benton, Arkansas; Trent White of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Jeremy (Mandy) McGee of Richardson, Texas; Justin (Brooke) McGee of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Laney White of Bryant, Arkansas; two great-grandchildren – Anniston Jane White and Jack Andrew White of Benton, Arkansas; one brother, Gary (Evonne) Duke of Collierville, Tennessee; two nephews – Arlon (Ginger) Duke of Collierville, Tennessee and Anton (Kristin) Duke of Bryant, Arkansas; one niece, Angela Martin of Collierville, Tennessee; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 25 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Norman, Ar. with burial at Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 25 in Selph Hall at First Baptist Church.
