Jason Flynn
Harris
Feb 19, 1973 — Jul 18, 2024
Benton
Jason Flynn Harris, 51, of Benton, AR was welcomed by his Heavenly Father on July 18th, 2024 after bravely battling a third round of cancer. He was born on February 19, 1973 in Little Rock, AR to Ira Flynn Harris and Rita Sherlene (Hendricks) Harris.
Jason was a loving son, brother, nephew, Dad, and friend to many. He knew the Lord as his Savior and was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, AR where he volunteered his God-given talents by playing the drums with the choir and musicians. Jason graduated Benton High School in 1991, attended ASU in Beebe, AR, and pursued a career as an AutoCAD Draftsman which he enjoyed over a span of 25 years with various companies, ending with Whiting Systems, Inc. His projects included drafting everything from lighting components, environmental waste receptacles, school busses, dump trucks and heavy equipment trailers, to drive-through car wash systems for tractor trailer rigs. Among his interests, Jason was introduced to Amateur Ham Radio at Metropolitan Vo-Tech in high school and was a Skywarn Certified Weather Spotter (N5JFH). Anyone that knew Jason quickly learned his love of Snoopy, Mopar, Stubby's barbecue, and video gaming with friends from around the world. He was fiercely proud of his nation and Southern heritage and valued the freedoms that the past generations fought and died for. Far beyond all of his interests was his love for his two boys, Justin and Logan. He bragged on them any chance that he got. The three of them enjoyed annual visits to the Petit Jean Antique Car Show for Father's Day. Jason will be remembered for his tall stature, deep voice, easy-going personality, and big, big, heart.
Jason was preceded in death by his parents (Ira Flynn and Rita Sherlene Harris). Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Justin (Sarah) Harris of Little Rock, Logan (Dustie) Harris of Little Rock, and his sister: Mandi (Chris) Wertenberger of Benton. Other survivors include a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22nd at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, AR.
Church services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23rd at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, AR. A private, family burial will be at Kentucky Cemetery at a later date.
