Jay Loyd English of Saline County, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the age of ninety five. He was faithfully attended at home by his wife of seventy years, Virginia Lea (Green) English in an atmosphere of love and family.

He was survived by his children, Jim English, M.D., Dan English, and Diane English (Lloyd) Orrell. brother, Jackie English, sister, Linda English Doggett. Both Loyd and Virginia had four granddaughters, Amy (Kevin) Young, Angela (Michael) Morgan, Stefany (Dustin) Ashley, Chevis (John) Douville. He also has eleven    great-grandchildren: Mitchell Morgan, Andrew (Lenae) Morgan, Corey Morgan, J. D. Morgan, Jeannlee Morgan, Zeke Young, Audrey Ashley, Autumn Ashley, Zach (Ashley) Broadway, Skylar Douville, Cannon Douville. He has two great-great-grandchildren: Manson Morgan and Jackson Broadway.

He was very proud of the time he spent in the sports program at Bauxite High School. He played basketball and ran track, but his favorite by far was his football career. He was inducted into the Bauxite Hall of Fame several years ago. He also went on to play in UALR's football program for his first year of college. He soon realized that he wanted to start his adult life and was hired on at Reynolds Metal Company, where he retired from after 44 years. One of his favorite pastimes was gardening. He also enjoyed golfing as well as fishing.

The funeral will be conducted by their pastor, Brother Paul Carter at their church home of 65 years-Fairview Missionary Baptist in eastern Saline County on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be at McPherson Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday December 28 at the Church.
