Jerry Lavonia (Barton) Key, age 89 of Benton, AR passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Southern Trace Rehabilitation Center in Bryant, AR. She was born June 26, 1936 in Franklin Parish, LA to the late Eugene and Johnnie Mae (Lightsey) Barton.

Jerry was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and pastor's wife. She was a talented piano player and singer and enjoyed reading, cooking, playing games, and spending time with family.

She met James Key in April 1957 at a church youth service in Monticello, LA. They were married January 25, 1958, celebrating almost 68 years together.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents and a host of friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, James Key; sisters Mary Daniel (Al) of Mooresville, NC and Bonita Hearne (Donald) of Bossier City, LA; daughter, Cindy Russell (Keith) of Benton, AR; son, Jim Key (Angie) of Princeton, TX; daughter, Karen Willis (Jeff) of Maumelle, AR; daughter, Anita James (Mike) of Frisco, TX; grandchildren, Chris Russell (Hannah), Beth Boone, Jay Power-Key (Lindsay), Michael Key (Micaela), Veronica Key, Geoffrey Willis, Kailyn McAlister (Bryce), Grace Rodriguez (Joe), and Samuel James; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Jasmine Boone; Brady, Patrick and Cole Power-Key; Amelia Grace, Evangeline and Eleanor Key.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025 at First Assembly of God in Benton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at First Assembly of God in Benton, 1801 Hot Springs Hwy. Internment will follow the service at Rosemont Cemetery in Benton. Jerry will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Funeral services are under the direction of Ashby Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to First Assembly of God Benton designated for the building fund.
