Jerry Dan Richards, age 86, of Benton, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.  He was born to Charles "Budge" and Jewell Green Richards in 1938.  Dan married Sue Paxton of North Little Rock in 1957.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Charles Jason Richards; and brother, Ira Don Richards.

Dan is survived by his wife, Sue Richards; daughter, Dana Richards Owens; and son-in-law, Jimmy Owens.

He graduated from Bauxite High School in 1956 and entered the army that fall.  Dan Attended Henderson State University and UALR.  While serving as city alderman, he helped Wanda William start the Saline County Humane Society.  Dan served as Saline County Treasurer in the late 1970's.  He was a lineman for the city of Benton and an electrical supervisor for ALCOA.

Dan enjoyed life and his favorite things over the years included riding his motorcycles with family & friends, watching his hay fields grow, working on his tractors, and helping friends & neighbors.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at James Cemetery.
