John Michael Malin was born in Lansing, Michigan on November 27th, 1944 to John and Rose Anna Malin and passed away July 16, 2025. He attended local schools in Lansing and graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing, MI in 1962. After working in the culinary field for several years, he moved to Oldsmobile, where he became the youngest floor manager during his time there. He then attended Michigan State University, where he received his Associate's Degree in Criminology. He joined the Lansing Police Force and Eaton County Sherriff's Department, where he became the youngest precinct sergeant at the time. After leaving law enforcement, he owned his own business of a full service station, John's Mobile.

In the early 90s, John moved to the Batesville, Arkansas, where he was a general manager in the retail industry before moving on to car sales at Independence Ford. After retirement, he served as a code enforcement officer in Batesville.

John married the love of his life, Sandra, in Batesville in 1997 at First Presbyterian Church. Joining him in family were his new children, Cameron, Kathleen (John Robert, husband), and Sheena (Tyler, husband). Along with his children, he has nine grandchildren: Dakota, Chyenne, Matti, Chloe, Samuel, Elizabeth, Nano, Maisie, and Beckett.

John will be remembered for his passion for cooking, especially for his ribs and chicken wings.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose, as well as his sister, Rose Marie, and brother-in-law, Max Devine.

Services of memory and celebration will be held at Ashby's Funeral Home in Benton, AR on July 25th, 2025 at 9 and 10 AM, respectively.
