John
Sowell
Oct 25, 1979 — Feb 7, 2024
Bryant
John Sowell was more than your ordinary father, husband, son, and brother. He had a life filled with adventure and a profound love for his wife and children. John passed away on February 7, 2024 at the age of 44. He leaves behind his greatest loves, his wife, Kristen, two daughters, Eden and Riley, his mother and step-father, Ann & Gary Duffy, and a host of siblings, nieces and nephews that will carry his legacy for years to come. He is predeceased by his loving father, Dennis.
John served in the United States Army. He served one tour in Bosnia where he was recalled due to 9/11 and promptly answered the call for deployment to Iraq. John and his brother, Harley, stayed together through their deployments resulting in long lasting friendships and family bonded together forever in the service of our country. John returned to the States and attended Henderson State University where he continued extending his family by joining Phi Lambda Chi fraternity. John had a number of hobbies, but his favorite activities were always spending time with Kristen and his girls. Whether it was long hours of cheer competitions or taking everyone to the lake for boating and swimming, he was always around to do what was needed and be a devoted father and husband. John was loved by many for his wonderful sense of humor and kindness toward everyone he met.
