Judith Josephine Williams Bono, age 81, of Benton, passed away just a few days after her birthday on Saturday, July 15, 2023.  She was born July 11, 1942 in Waldo, Arkansas to the late Charlie & Marie Smith Williams.  Judith retired from AT&T where she worked in maintenance and was a boiler operator.  She was a member of Summit Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized many years ago.

Judy had many passions, such as, having a fishing pole in her hand or holding a campaign sign at the courthouse for her favorite candidates. But most of all, she enjoyed taking care of other people by cooking her famous BBQ and other famous dishes for her family and friends or even sitting at a slot machine for hours.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry Lynn "Jiggs" Bono; grandson, Jakob Carroll Bono; three brothers, Edward, Freddy, and Jerry Williams; two sisters, Stella McGee and Dorothy Tiner; and a step-sister, Nellie Jarvis.

Judith is survived by two sons, Carroll Bono (Janie) and Tubby Bono (Trish); daughter, Myka Bono Sample (Billy); seven grandchildren, Cara Bono, Casey Butler, Chad Bono, Will Bono, Matt Sample, Aaron Sample, and Briar Sample; eight great-grandchildren, Andy Bono, Jakob Bono, Benjamin Bono, Raelynn Sample, Rowan Sample, Maverick Sample, Vivian Sample, and Sutton Sample; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Pallbearers will be Will Bono, Chad Bono, Matt Sample, Aaron Sample, Briar Sample, and Tom Jones.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Abbott, Eugene "Blue" Hardin, and Lloyd Ivey.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 21 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Summit Cemetery.  Bro. Charlie Wood and Bro. Kim Hammer will be officiating.
