Karen Elaine Smith age 67, of Benton passed away Friday, September 18, 2026. She was born December 12, 1958 in Claremore, Oklahoma. Karen was an Elementary School Teacher at Salem Elementary School and was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.

She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and a deeply loved part of our family. She brought joy wherever she went and had a special heart for helping and teaching children. Her kindness, love and bright spirit will never be forgotten.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Willhite and Betty Miller Willhite, daughter, Abbi Smith, son, Isaac Smith, father-in-law, Dr. Wayne Smith, mother-in-law, Virginia Smith.

Survivors, husband, Brett Smith, daughter, Lilly Lynn Smith, brother, John Willhite, sister, Debbie Wood, one grandson, Ryan M. Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 26, at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
