Obituary

Larry Wayne Crabill passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 12, 1946, he was the son of the late Merlyn and Velma (nee Ruhl) Crabill.

Larry proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War and later in the Navy Reserves, remaining a loyal member of the American Legion Post #409 in Leo, Indiana. After returning to Fort Wayne, he married his wife, Carol, with whom he raised three children. An anchor for the family, Larry modeled Christian faith, high morals, and a strong work ethic. This was exemplified by his success as an esteemed financial advisor who cared deeply about his clients' financial security.

After retiring, Larry's passion was traveling the globe with his wife and experiencing different cultures. He enjoyed writing travel articles and was always eager to help others plan their own adventures.

A devout Christian, Larry was an active member of The Church at Rock Creek and volunteered weekly at the food bank. He demonstrated his faith by contributing to various charities and by formerly serving on the Board of Directors for the Pulaski County Habitat for Humanity as well as that for the Rwandan Orphans Project, which provides shelter and education to homeless children. During his time on the board, Larry successfully helped raise funds for a larger campus and visited the orphanage twice with his wife to deliver supplies. He also volunteered with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Disaster Relief to prepare and serve meals in Houston to survivors of Hurricane Harvey.

Larry's quick wit, orneriness, and desire to help others will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol; his children, Chad Crabill and his wife, Alisha, Troy Crabill and his wife, Doraisela, and Trisha Crabill and her fiancé, Eric Gramlich; siblings, Steve (Linda) Crabill, Tom (Sandy) Crabill, Sue (Ted) Jansen, Sara (Jeff) Hudson, and Linda (Rick) Gerig; and grandchildren, Ethan Crabill, Cameran Crabill, Ashley Smith, and Jessica Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlyn and Velma Crabill, and his brother, Darrell Crabill and his wife, Jan.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00-11:00 a.m. on March 27, 2024, at The Church at Rock Creek at 11500 West 36th Street in Little Rock, Arkansas, with calling one hour prior. All are encouraged to attend and celebrate Larry's life and legacy. A Celebration of Larry's Life will also be held at a later date in Larry's hometown in Fort Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Church at Rock Creek Food Bank, where he volunteered. Donations can be sent through the mail or made online at https://app.securegive.com/RockCreek/church-at-rock-creek/donate/category.
