Larry McDade, a beloved husband, father and grandfather (a cop and a carpenter) passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on April 1, 2025 at the age of 73.

Born in Harbor City, California on September 4, 1951, he was a man dedicated to his family and touched the lives of many. He served the community of Brea, California as a police officer in the 1970's. He went on to build careers in construction and printing. His interest in firearms and law enforcement led him to be extremely successful in competition matches. He served on the Board of Directors of the DVC Gun Club in Visalia, CA. He also taught cadets in the academy how to handle difficult traffic stops.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years and high school sweetheart, Joanna. They were never apart and built a life and businesses together. He is also survived by his daughter, Rebecca (McDade) White, and his grandson, Zachary Hicks, both of Visalia, California. He is loved by numerous cousins, his sister in law, Shirley Rapp of Blackstone VA; twin nieces Heidi Harrison from Texas and Heather Ebbs (from Tennessee) and their families.

A celebration of life is to be held at Saline Missionary Baptist Church in Tull, AR on Monday, April 7th at 10 am.

A graveside service will be held at his final resting place at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, California. Date and time pending.
